Singing

One afternoon Mike's dad called and invited them to dinner at the Black family's favorite Mexican restaurant, El Farol. Mike mentioned that I was there visiting and Randy (Mike's dad) invited me along, also. Afterward, we all went over to his house and shared family time together. Family time is when they read from The Book of Mormon and then have a prayer. Somehow, we got Austin to sing for us. This is a video of Austin and Mitchell singing "I love you, Grandma, Grandpa". The first rendition Mitchell was whispering the words in Austin's ear. Then I got the bright idea to film them singing and we all encouraged them to sing together.

Angels and Demons

We went to see a matinee showing of"Angels and Demons" on my day off a couple of weeks ago and the owner of the theater came in saying she had some promotional caps to give away if you could name one of the four elements in the movie. Well, I didn't wait and yelled out "Air" and look what we took home!

The Blue Iguana

Jenny parents invited us to join them for a post-graduation meal at The Blue Iguana in downtown Salt Lake City. I don't know why, but I took a couple of pictures of this T-shirt displays while we were waiting for the rest of the crew.

Here we all are trying to decide what to order. On the right, Danny, Jenny, John (Jenny's dad), Jenny's mom is hidden on the other side of John. On the left is Amanda, Jenny's sister. Also on the left are Jenny's aunt and uncle with their children (sorry, I can't remember your names)

Kevin, Amanda and Ben

Danny, Jenny, John, Regina, and Jenny's grandma all the way from Pennsylvania!
This is Kevin's yumminess.
I ordered fish or shrimp tacos. So good!

Danny order two different types of mole. One was delicious and the other kind of bland.
I will definitely be eating here again! Thank you, John!

Jenny's graduation

You can't really tell where Jenny is but I will try to describe to you. In the middle of the picture is a line of grads waiting to receive their diplomas. Jenny is in that line, wearing a red sash(?).
In this picture, the graduates are standing up in the middle of the picture again, filing down to the floor.
This is after they received their diplomas and had their names read out for everyone to hear. Yeah, Jenny! Congratulations! I'm so proud of you.

Grandpa Kevin and Rachel

On Thursday, May 7th, I ate dinner with Teri and Clem, my sister and brother-in-law. Then I went to the tabernacle to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practice. I had to leave early to pick up Kevin at the airport. Here he's showing Rachel how to play games on his telephone the next day.
She's got it now and look at her cute hairdo! Mandi fixes her hair in a myriad of styles.

Happy Birthday to me!

Now, when you read the title of this post, you're supposed to sing it! haha. Jenny invited me to lunch with her and Danny for my birthday. It was so nice to be on vacation (paid!) for my birthday and not work. I decided last year when I worked on my birthday, that I wouldn't ever work on that day again! So, for lunch we went to Koko Kitchen, my favorite sushi place in the whole world. This fried shrimp dish we got for free because the customers left before it was ready. I ate almost the whole shrimp, even the fried antennae! It was pretty good. Crunchy.
Mussel shooters. I wasn't going to eat them then Danny practically shoved it in my mouth (teehee). It was good too. When the chef was fixing it, I told Danny and Jenny that I wouldn't eat any but there you go. The orange fish eggs are crunchy! They pop when you bite them.
I forget what this is called by it has salmon roe and quail's egg on top. I really like this! You can see a picture of me eating it on my dil's blog.
Here's what our place at the sushi bar looked like on our way out.
The two sushi chefs. They know Danny pretty well there. Danny kept going on and on about how he tried for years to get me to eat sushi and then thought it was funny that it was a co-worker who introduced me to sushi when I worked at Gottschalks in San Luis Obispo. Thank you for a delicious lunch, Danny and Jenny!

Teri and Clem"s new apartment

Teri invited me to stay overnight in their new apartment so I met her and Clem at the Church History Museum and we walked to their car. Then we decided to go out to dinner. We went to the Macaroni Grill. It was my first time there. I ordered the Chicken Cannelloni. It was pretty good, although I think I would have ordered something else if I had realized how much cheese there was. So I didn't take any pictures while we were there but I did take lots of Teri's new home. The above picture if the 2nd bedroom. This set-up is a bookshelf that slides open to reveal the closet! Its so cool!
The bed is a Murphy bed. When we first walked in and the bed was in the fixture, Clem told me I'd have to sleep on the floor. Haha. This is what it looks like when the bed is let down.
Here it is put away.
This is their living room.
Here's their dining room with the kitchen in the background. The sliding glass doors open onto their patio which is really big!
Kicthen-look at all the cupboard space! There's also a second bathroom. I didn't get any pictures of the master bedroom with bath. It has a real nice closet/dressing room area.
This is the outside of their building
I took this picture from the guest parking lot.

This picture shows the wall outside their apartment that encloses their patio.
