Dead tree

One of the pine trees that surround the front field (east side of the house) died, so Kevin cut it down with his new electric saw.

there's the stump and the propane tank. We lead such an exciting life!

96th Annual Chili Cookoff

Corbin, Andrea and Preston Hughes. Preston wouldn't look at me. He was only interested in his big brother.
Last night was our annual Chili Cookoff. This is what the chili table looked like after everyone was done eating. Good food! I had the pheasant chili and also whitebean chili. They were both delicious!
Floyd Butterfield holding his son, Trevin.
Olivia Coons (Christine and Ryan Coons' little girl). She really likes me and wants to kiss me all the time. For entertainment, we had a man bring his trained parrots. Scott Stevenson is the "volunteer" and he's holding a rope on his thumb. Sorry this isn't a very good angle. The bird is supposed to slide to the middle.
The green parrot is 16 years old and the oldest one (on the left) is 36! They were very good.
Here they are "waving" good-bye.

Easter Dress

This is the best I could do for a picture of my new dress, considering no one else was around. I decided a few weeks ago that I needed a new dress for Easter--one that was pretty and floral--something else besides black and brown. I found this chiffon fabric at Walmart and paired it with a pink cotton lining and asked my friend, Jeannie, to whip it up for me and here it is. I just love it! I feel pretty, oh so pretty.

Car Wash

I really wanted to get a pic of Cody wiping down the car but he was too quick. He helped me finish my car wash by wiping down the outside and vacuuming the inside. Here he's beating the mats on the wall of the garage. Thanks, Cody!

Austin's cuteness

Isn't he just the sweetest? But don't let that look fool you. Butter won't melt in his mouth. Haha. On Sunday, March 8th, I told Mitchell and Austin that I would have to tell them goodbye on Monday morning before they left for school because I would be leaving for the airport before they got home from school in the afternoon and Austin said "Ok. But don't wear any chapstick when you kiss me". I finally found out the reason he wipes off my kisses!

Nice surprise!

This will be a long post because I'm just going to add all the pictures from our weekend. When I got home from work on Thursday, March 26th, Kevin informed me that Kyra and Brad were on their way here from Irvine and would be spending the night with us. Their plans were to go to Monterey on Friday and visit the Aquarium and then on to San Jose to tour the Winchester Mystery House. They would be back on Saturday to spend the night again and then head home on Sunday afternoon.
Cody and Kyra awaiting their entrees

Brad order Twin Peaks at AJ Spurs. Twin Peaks is two bacon-wrapped filet mignons, one topped with hollandaise sauce and the other with asparagus topped with cheese sauce. Wow!

Kevin turned to listen to our server.
Here's the bunch of us. Its a pretty good picture for being taken in a restaurant. Good food!

Sunday morning after church I decided to make cookies. I'm using the Mexican vanilla Mike and Mandi brought me from their cruise last month. When Kyra heard the beater from upstairs, she told Brad I was making cookies. She came downstairs and texted Brad I was making cookies. He came down a few minutes later to taste-test my batter. I guess it was good because they both kept eating it.
This is Brad and Kyra in their gorilla pose.
As soon as the cookies were done, we headed to Templeton to lunch at Joe's Place. Brad ordered an omelet with avocado and country potatoes (I can't remember what it was called).

Kevin and I shared a mushroom, spinach and cheese omelet with hash browns. It was so delicious!
Cody started in on a Monterey Omelet.

Kyra ordered the Breakfast Burrito and cut it in half to take the rest home. It was huge!

Kyra, Brad and Cody enjoying lunch or maybe we should call it brunch.

Kyra and Brad's new car--Infiniti
Bye! Have a safe trip! Love you!

Family Dinner

I wanted to have a family dinner while I was in Utah last month, so I arranged one very last minute for the 8th of March. Danny and Jenny came along with Ryan Goodwin. It was at a weird time to accomodate Jenny's dad's birthday party. Here are pictured Austin, Danny and Jenny trying to kiss Danny (?)
I think Austin loves Danny's bald head.
Ryan is holding Rachel, Mitchell, Austin, Danny and Jenny.

And to top it off, Rachel in her beautiful dress. Austin had to be in the picture but I was really trying to get Rachel in her dress so I asked Austin to step out of the way.
