Two weddings

We had a very unusual day yesterday. You notice my post title is "Two weddings". Well, before Sunday School started, Jason Ivey came up to Kyra and I and asked how we were and if there was anything exciting happening. No, as usual, and then I asked him what exciting things were going on in his life and he said a wedding in the Relief Society room after church! Sorry I didn't get any pictures but my camera was at home! Jason Ivey and Natilee Ramussen were married after church yesterday. Later on in the afternoon, we headed to Santa Barbara for Colin and Megan's wedding. Here are the groom and his men waiting for Megan. It was held at the Alice Keck Memorial Park. With his back to the camera, that's Ryan, Colin's older brother, probably discussing with Colin why Megan is taking so long. The woman in the picture is the officiant. and the young man is Austin, Megan's son.
Colin is trying to read his vows.

Megan and Colin at the wedding dinner (held at Stella Mare's). Sorry this is out of order but I haven't ever figured out how to rearrange the pics after adding them here.

First kiss as husband and wife.

I'm not sure why I took this picture but its pretty funny.

I wasn't quick enough to get two shots of them

This picture didn't turn out (seeting again) but I'm posting it anyway. Lauren and Blake Bowen

My brother, Mike and his wife, Lana.

My sister-in-law and her husband, Roger. Sorry, Roger. I got you with your eyes closed. We had a very nice time and the weather was cooperative. It was nice to visit with family and meet new friends. Sorry more of you couldn't be there.

Pipi

Yesterday morning when I came in the house with some corn (!), Kyra and Brad's cat, Pipi, followed me in. When I went from the kitchen to the living room, she ran back outside. Then Brad came in a few minutes later and said "someone's here to see you" and Pipi came back in. Brad sat down to play video games and Pipi started exploring our whole house. I think she was looking for Nori ( I still look for Nori :(). Pipi was test-driving all the surfaces in our house--first she lay down on the kitchen floor, then I saw her in the atrium (bricks). Then she was laying in front on Brad on the living room floor. Later, I was looking for her and found her on the windowsill in the bathroom.

Nori

When Danny was about 13 years old, he came home from a visit with the Robinson's. The next morning while I was sitting on the sofa, I heard strange noises coming from his room. I went to investigate and found two kittens there. Since Danny was enamored of Marilyn Monroe at the time, I suggested we name them Norma Jean and Marilyn Monroe. Norma Jean we shortened to Nori. A few weeks later we found out Marilyn Monroe wasn't a female and I suggested Joe DiMaggio for his name. To make a long story short, Nori got a real bad infection in her head about 3 months ago. Kyra informed me earlier this week that they were taking her to the vet. Well, there were three options and the best one we chose, for us and for Nori, was euthanasia.
when I came in from the garden yesterday morning, Kyra and Brad were sitting with Nori, grooming her and Kyra had tears running down her face. I had to steel myself to not start crying, too. Nori has been an integral part of our family for almost 17 years. We will truly miss her.

This blog is dedicated to our cat, Nori.

Bowling and Tennis, all in one night!

Over the weekend, Brad and Kyra moved into our garage apartment. Dad thought it would be best if their big TV was set up in out front room since the living room in the apartment is really tiny. So after dinner, which Brad grilled on the BBQ, we decided to play games on the Wii. I know these pictures aren't the greatest but at least you'll get the idea of what we're doing. Brad is taking his first shot bowling.
again. this is a better picture

in motion. I like this picture--those are Kyra's feet you see at the left.

I kept taking Brad's picture to try to figure out which setting was the one that would work best.

Kevin after his shot

Kyra waiting for her shot
She didn't quite make a strike

here I am--

I took this one of Kyra from behind

And here are the scores--Brad won! We had alot of fun playing tennis--no chance to take pictures because we were playing doubles. I'm ready to take them on again! It was lots of fun and thanks again for dinner!
